Why we created NioKids1. Kids of
all ages should be able to locate
excellent quality websites that are age and
content appropriate.
2. Kids should always have new websites to
look
at and to explore - that's why we add new links all
the time and a new page full of fun and educational links each month.
3. Tots, toddlers, and their parents should
be able
to find educational and recreational websites
designed especially for very young children.
4. Older kids should be able to locate
resources
to help them with their homework and sites that
are just plain fun.
5. Parents, librarians, and teachers should
be able
to easily locate materials that will help them teach
kids and learn more as adults.
6. Nioga member libraries should be able
provide their young patrons with a website that's
built especially for them.
7. It's important to have a website that's
built
for kids that contains links to Western New York communities and
attractions.

How we maintain
NioKids
NEW - Starting in 2010 we've added a new section "Monthly Ideas" to
the Grownups section. It includes lesson plan, class/library
activities/printables..
Every month we add a new month page to
NioKids, so there's always something new for tots, kids, and teens to
explore.
Four times a year we update the 'Seasons' page in NioTots.

Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library
by the Federal Institute
of Museum and Library Services.

NioKids was developed for the Nioga
Library System by Information Age Consultants.
